Trump Hosts Kennedy Center Honors

President Donald Trump is hosting the Kennedy Center Honors for the first time.

He presented medals to the honorees in the Oval Office, including Sylvester Stallone, George Strait, Gloria Gaynor, KISS, and Michael Crawford.

Trump said he expects the show to have the highest ratings ever.

He also joked that he should do better than Jimmy Kimmel, who has hosted the Oscars.

The show will be taped in December and broadcast later on CBS and Paramount+.

Trump was involved in selecting the honorees and has replaced the Kennedy Center board with his own appointees.

The Kennedy Center is undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation overseen by its new president, Ric Grenell, who previously served as Trump's ambassador to Germany.

There has been staff turnover and discontent in the arts community about the center's direction.
