GCC Expands Dog Feeding Network to 40 Locations in Chennai
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has increased the number of places where people can feed community dogs from 8 to 40 across the city.
This is to follow the Supreme Court's rules about feeding dogs in cities.
The new spots are in many different areas of Chennai.
However, there are still some problems.
Not all places have signs or shelters, and some people are still feeding dogs on the sides of roads.
The GCC is working on making better rules and adding more signs and shelters.
Some people living nearby are worried about cleanliness and want the GCC to do more to keep the areas clean.
GCC expanded community dog feeding locations from 8 to 40 across Chennai's 15 zones.
New locations include areas like Royapuram, Kolathur, Anna Nagar, and Besant Nagar.
Signboards and shelters are not yet available at all locations.
GCC is working on standard operating procedures and additional infrastructure.
Residents express concerns about hygiene and waste management at feeding sites.
