Uttar Pradesh Scheme Pays ₹60.93 Crore To OBC Families
The Uttar Pradesh Government gives money to some OBC families to help pay for their daughters' weddings.
This support is provided through a program called the Shaadi Anudan Yojana.
In the 2026-27 financial year, 30,466 families have received money so far.
Together, they have received ₹60.93 crore.
Each eligible family can receive ₹20,000.
Families must generally have an annual income of no more than ₹1 lakh.
The girl must be at least 18 and the boy at least 21 when they marry.
The government plans to help 105,000 eligible families during the year.
The Shaadi Anudan Yojana has paid ₹60.93 crore to 30,466 OBC beneficiaries in financial year 2026-27.
The Uttar Pradesh Government has set a target of 105,000 beneficiaries and ₹210 crore for the financial year.
So far, ₹106.65 crore has been allocated and 96,956 applications have been received.
Of the applications received, 12,855 have been rejected, according to government data.
Eligible families with annual incomes up to ₹1 lakh receive ₹20,000 directly in their bank accounts.
