Delhi Launches Expanded Newborn Screening and Health Service Initiatives

Delhi has started several new health services.

One program will test newborn babies for 56 kinds of health conditions using just one blood sample.

These tests are free and can help find some illnesses early.

The government has also doubled the monthly incentive amount for ASHA health workers, from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000.

Delhi has 6,690 ASHA workers.

A new office at GB Pant Hospital will help coordinate organ donation and transplants.

A new online portal is intended to make nursing home processes simpler and more transparent.

The initiatives were launched as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
