Illegal Waste Dumping in Punjab Exposed
Some people in Chandigarh were caught doing something bad with garbage.
They were taking trash from a big dumping place called Daddumajra and secretly burying it in Punjab at night.
This is against the rules because the trash should be properly treated.
A man named Kuldeep Singh Kukki saw this happening and told the authorities.
They found and stopped some trucks, but the drivers ran away.
Later, a truck carrying garbage had an accident, and people found out it was not carrying the right kind of trash.
This made everyone very upset, and they want the people responsible to be punished.
Some leaders said that a lot of money was spent on trash management, but it was not used properly.
They want a big investigation to find out what really happened.
Unprocessed waste from Chandigarh’s Daddumajra dumping ground was illegally buried in Punjab near Palheri village.
Around 10 trucks were involved in the illegal dumping, with five trucks seized by the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB).
A truck accident revealed that wet municipal waste was being transported instead of the claimed RDF (refuse derived fuel).
An FIR has been registered under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, and BNS sections 271 and 272 against the waste management contractor and others.
AAP councillors and leaders demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible for the illegal dumping and waste management irregularities.
