Former AIADMK MLA Murugumaran Joins TVK After Resignation
N. Murugumaran used to be a leader in the AIADMK party.
He left that party and joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, or TVK.
He said the AIADMK did not give enough chances to hardworking members and favoured people with a lot of money.
He also wanted to run for election in Kattumannarkoil, where he had won before.
Instead, the party chose him to run in Tittakudi.
He received 42,502 votes there, behind two other candidates.
Murugumaran said he felt overlooked by the party.
Former AIADMK legislator and organising secretary N. Murugumaran joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in Dharapuram on Sunday.
He resigned from the AIADMK, saying its leadership sidelined committed workers and favoured wealthy candidates.
Murugumaran said he was dissatisfied that he was not nominated from Kattumannarkoil for the 2026 election.
The AIADMK nominated him from Tittakudi, where he polled 42,502 votes and finished behind C.V. Ganesan and Rajasekhar.
