Bangladesh Court Sentences Ex-PM Hasina to 21 Years
A court in Bangladesh has sentenced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to 21 years in jail for corruption.
The charges are related to unfairly giving land in a government housing project.
The court also fined her and sentenced her son and daughter to five years each.
Hasina, who is currently in India, says the charges are politically motivated.
The court found 20 other people guilty as well.
This is one of several legal cases against Hasina since she lost power last year.
The 21-year sentence does not cancel a previous death penalty she received for other charges.
