Indian Investors Expand Global Portfolios
Indian investors are putting more money into global markets.
A report by Vested Finance shows that investments in overseas equities and debt have grown a lot, from $422 million in 2019 to $1.7 billion in 2025.
Investors are not just putting money into single stocks but also into US equities, ETFs, and global funds.
This trend is seen across many cities in India, not just the big ones.
The average investor holds 11 global securities, and most of the money goes into stocks and ETFs.
The report also shows that younger people and regular investors are leading this trend, with a small part going to high-net-worth individuals.
This shift is happening because investors want to diversify their portfolios and think about long-term growth.
Outbound investment in overseas equity and debt increased four-fold from $422 million in FY19 to $1.7 billion in FY25.
