Tollywood Faces Financial Strain After 2025 Flops

The Telugu film industry is having a tough time because many movies didn't do well at the box office last year.

This has made producers ask big stars to take less money for their roles.

One movie that didn't do well was Akhanda 2, which made Rs 120 Cr but still lost Rs 40 Cr.

Because of this, a big movie with actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nayanthara had to be changed to a smaller budget, and Nayanthara is no longer part of it.

She was supposed to be paid Rs 10 crore, which the producers couldn't afford.

The director, Gopichand Malineni, is now making a different movie with Balakrishna on a smaller budget.

Akhanda 2 will be available on Netflix starting January 9, 2026, giving it a second chance to reach audiences.
