Karnataka government to support priest training at 34,000 rural temples
The leader of the Indian state of Karnataka, Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, made a big announcement.
He said his government wants to help priests who work in small village temples.
There are about 34,000 of these rural temples across the state.
He asked religious groups and temple schools to work together on a training program.
The training would teach priests the proper ways to perform rituals and traditions.
He suggested the training last for three months.
The government promised to give all the help needed for it.
He also said that knowledge should be shared, not kept secret by a few people.
He reminded everyone that about 300 temples were built or fixed in his own area.
This plan helps keep temple traditions strong for everyone.
