Supreme Court Questions AgustaWestland Deal Suspension
The Supreme Court is looking into a case about a company called Defsys Solutions.
The government suspended this company because it might have been involved in a deal with AgustaWestland, which is accused of wrongdoing.
The High Court had earlier said the suspension was unfair.
The Supreme Court is now asking the CBI to show any new evidence they have against Defsys.
The Court is also wondering why Defsys is being punished if AgustaWestland, the main accused, is not.
The Court wants the CBI to finish their investigation and show any new evidence they find.
Defsys says they have not been accused of anything and their business has suffered because of the suspension.
The Supreme Court asked the CBI to produce new evidence against Defsys Solutions, which was suspended over alleged involvement in the AgustaWestland deal.
The Court expressed doubts about continuing the suspension of Defsys when AgustaWestland, the principal offender, had its suspension revoked.
The Delhi High Court had earlier set aside the suspension orders against Defsys, prompting the Centre to appeal.
The CBI argued that the suspension was based on a report and that they had issued letters rogatory to foreign countries for information.
Defsys' lawyer argued that the company has not been named in any chargesheet and that the suspension has severely impacted its business.
