Sachin Pilot throws challenge to CJP: Show same courage in AAP-ruled Punjab · indianexpress.com

Sachin Pilot asked a group called the Cockroach Janta Party to inspect schools in Punjab more strictly.

The group had visited three government schools in Ludhiana.

One school had many good facilities, while two others had several problems.

The group also said that toilets at all three schools could be improved.

Some people criticized the group for being too gentle because Punjab is governed by the Aam Aadmi Party.

Pilot said Punjab should not get special treatment.

Aam Aadmi Party leaders answered by challenging him to compare schools in Punjab with schools in Himachal Pradesh.

The argument also referred to the group’s earlier inspection plans in Rajasthan.

Quotes

AAP leader and former Delhi education minister

“Anyone would welcome auditing schools in Punjab or elsewhere. Only one request/suggestion: audit Punjab with the same eyes, the same questions and the same courage with which you audit governments elsewhere. Punjab deserves no special exemption—and AAP deserves no friendly exemption.”

“We can show such excellent 1,000 schools, can you show us such 1,000 schools from Himachal Pradesh? Let us audit the government schools of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh together. Speak! Do you accept the challenge?”
