Why Tata Motors’ Iveco Deal Matters for Global Expansion

Why Tata Motors’ Iveco Deal Matters for Global Expansion

Tata Motors wants to buy Iveco Group’s commercial vehicle business.

Italy’s market regulator has approved the documents needed for shareholders to accept the offer.

The acceptance process begins on September 7.

The deal is expected to cost about €3.8 billion, but it does not include Iveco’s defence business.

If completed, the two companies could become one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle makers.

Tata Motors would gain Iveco’s sales, service and manufacturing networks in several regions.

Some Iveco products could also be considered for sale in India.

Tata Motors says the deal could help it become a more global company and improve its technology, sourcing and production capabilities.
