Dhubri DC removes Panchayat member for child marriage violation
A man named Amir Ali was removed from his job as a local leader in a village in Assam, India.
This happened because he got married when his wife was under 18, which is against the law.
The law says that if someone or their spouse was married as a child, they cannot be a leader in the village.
The officials found out that Amir Ali's wife was only 15 when their son was born.

An inquiry confirmed that Amir Ali's wife, Elifa Khatun, was 15 years old when their son was born, indicating she was a minor at the time of marriage.
The district commissioner invoked Section 111(2) of the Assam Panchayat Act, 1994, to disqualify and remove Amir Ali from his position.
The seat held by Amir Ali has been declared vacant, and copies of the order have been sent to relevant authorities for necessary action.
