Jitendra Singh Urges Startups to Drive Lab-to-Market Technology Transfer
Union Minister Jitendra Singh spoke about how Indian startups can turn scientific ideas into useful products.
He said many startups are located in smaller Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
These young innovators may be doing as well as, or better than, innovators in large cities.
Singh said scientific institutions should reach out to them instead of waiting for them to travel.
He also said research should not stay only inside laboratories.
It should lead to businesses, products and benefits for society.
The RISE Conclave brings startups, researchers, companies, mentors and government representatives together.
Singh said institutions in eastern India could work more closely to create a stronger science and technology network.

Singh proposed greater institutional convergence to build an eastern India knowledge corridor involving scientific and technical institutions.
