India's Fuel Prices Unchanged; Consumption Slows in FY26
India's petrol and diesel prices haven't changed in over a year.
Meanwhile, India used less petroleum overall in the first seven months of 2026 compared to the same period last year.
This is because we used less diesel and petrol, but more LPG for cooking.
This shows that even though our economy is growing, we're using less petroleum overall.
Petrol and diesel prices in India remain unchanged since May 2022.
Petroleum product consumption in India grew 1.17% in April-Oct 2026, down from 2.73% in the same period last year.
Diesel consumption growth moderated to 2.5% in FY26, from 0.78% in FY25.
Petrol demand growth slowed to 6.8% in FY26, down from 7.6% in FY25.
LPG consumption grew 7.6% in FY26, while petroleum coke and naphtha consumption decreased.
