Bluetooth Earphones and Thyroid Issues: Myth or Fact?
Some people think that Bluetooth earphones might cause problems with the thyroid gland because they emit a type of radiation called radiofrequency (RF) radiation.
A doctor named Paul Saladino said that using Bluetooth earphones a lot could be bad for the thyroid, which is an important gland in your neck.
However, other doctors who specialize in thyroid and ear health say that there isn't enough proof to show that Bluetooth earphones really hurt the thyroid.
They explain that the kind of radiation from Bluetooth is not strong enough to damage the thyroid or cause cancer.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also say that the levels of radiation from these devices are safe and don't affect thyroid function.
So, while some people are worried, the experts agree that there's no strong evidence to support the idea that Bluetooth earphones are harmful to the thyroid.
Dr. Paul Saladino claims Bluetooth earphones may cause thyroid issues due to radiofrequency radiation.
Bluetooth devices operate on the 2.4GHz frequency band, similar to WiFi and microwaves.
Endocrinology specialists Dr. Sharwari Dabhade Dua and Dr. Shivani Tiwari state there is no conclusive evidence linking Bluetooth earphones to thyroid problems.
The WHO and US FDA confirm that current exposure levels from wireless devices are below safety limits and do not affect thyroid function or cancer risk.
Experts agree that more research is needed to fully understand the long-term effects of Bluetooth earphones on thyroid health.
