Kanpur CMO Rejects Claims Of Expired Syrup At Flood Camp

Kanpur CMO Rejects Claims Of Expired Syrup At Flood Camp

A report said flood victims in Kanpur may have received expired syrup.

The medicine was Trimethoprim and Sulfamethoxazole IP Syrup.

Kanpur’s Chief Medical Officer, Indradev Singh, investigated the claim.

He said the syrup was not handed out at the September 2 relief camp.

Officials checked medicine records and the camp’s stock register.

They found no entry showing that this syrup was distributed there.

Records showed the medicine arrived in 2025 and was sent to health centres by March 2025.

The CMO therefore called the allegations baseless.
