Former Disney Star Matt Prokop Arrested on Serious Charges
Matt Prokop, who was a star in Disney movies like High School Musical 3, has been arrested.
He is accused of having child pornography and assaulting someone.
He was also arrested before for hurting his girlfriend.
He is in jail right now, and the court has not set a date for his trial yet.
People who watched his movies are surprised and sad about this news.
Matt Prokop, 35, was arrested on December 24, 2025, in Victoria, Texas, on multiple charges including felony possession of child pornography and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Prokop is also facing charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest, and violation of bond or protective orders related to a 2024 case involving assault allegations against his then-girlfriend.
He rose to fame as Jimmie 'The Rocket Man' Zara in High School Musical 3: Senior Year and played Josh Rosen in Disney Channel’s Geek Charming.
Prokop has not had any acting credits since a permanent restraining order was granted against him in 2014 following allegations of physical and verbal abuse by his then-girlfriend Sarah Hyland.
Prokop remains in custody at the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office jail, and a court date has not yet been set.
