Ukraine's Chief of Staff Resigns Amid Corruption Probe
Ukraine's anti-corruption officers searched the apartment of the president's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak.
This happened in Kyiv on a Friday.
The officers said the searches were authorized and part of an investigation into a big money scheme in the energy sector.
They mentioned that more details would follow.
The announcement was made on a messaging app called Telegram.
Yermak has not been named as a suspect and has pledged full cooperation, saying investigators face 'no obstacles.'
Despite this, weeks of political pressure and public outrage, fueled by revelations of corruption affecting vital energy infrastructure, have destabilized Zelensky’s administration and led 70% of Ukrainians to call for Yermak’s dismissal.
Zelensky confirmed he will begin consultations to choose a replacement.
