Centre Announces Modern Facilities For Two Lakh Anganwadis

The government plans to improve two lakh Anganwadi centres.

These centres help children and support pregnant and breastfeeding women.

The improved centres will be called Saksham Anganwadis.

They may receive Wi-Fi, LED screens, clean-water plants and smart learning tools.

The goal is to provide better food, healthcare and early education for children.

Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar spoke about the plan at a programme in Karimnagar.

He said the government has spent more than Rs 1.77 lakh crore on related services over 12 years.

The government is also building 50,000 new Anganwadi buildings between 2021 and 2026.

A digital system called Poshan Tracker helps monitor services and children’s growth.
