Government Discusses Rising Jet Fuel Costs With Airlines and Oil Firms

Jet fuel has become more expensive, which makes it costlier for airlines to operate.

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the government is talking with airlines and oil companies about the prices.

He said the crisis in West Asia is putting extra pressure on fuel costs.

The ministry plans to hear from different groups before making a decision.

IndiGo has increased fuel surcharges on its domestic and international flights.

It said fuel prices rose by more than 14 per cent in the latest month.

Naidu also spoke about plans for cleaner aviation fuel, more airport hubs and building up aircraft-related manufacturing in India.
