SEA and Colombia’s Fedepalma Explore Palm Oil Cooperation
India’s edible-oil industry is looking for more places to buy palm oil.
Its trade association, SEA, plans to make an agreement with Fedepalma, a group representing oil palm growers in Colombia.
They want to explore trade and other ways to work together.
SEA says palm oil supplies could change as Indonesia and Malaysia use more of it to make biodiesel.
Colombia produces about 2 million tonnes of palm oil each year.
India has already imported some crude palm oil from Colombia.
SEA hopes to send a delegation to Colombia early next year.
The agreement is planned, but the articles do not say it has been signed.
