India-UK Trade Deal Marks Historic Economic Partnership
India and the UK are making a big trade deal, like two friends agreeing to trade toys.
This deal will allow each country to sell more things in the other country, like clothes and jewelry from India, and cars and drinks from the UK.
It took a long time to make the deal.
India wanted to protect its farmers, so that wasn't included.
They also made an agreement to help people who go to the UK to work.
It's a sign that these two big countries are working together and making a new chapter for trade.
India and the UK are finalizing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) after nearly three years of negotiations.
The FTA is Britain's most ambitious post-Brexit trade deal and India's first with a G7 nation.
The agreement aims to increase access to markets for textiles, seafood, gems, jewelry (India) and Scotch, cars, cosmetics (UK).
India held firm on excluding the agricultural sector from the agreement.
The deal includes a limited visa route for skilled workers and a social security exemption for short-term Indian workers.
