This happens on October 14, 2025.
If your computer can, you can get Windows 11 for free, which is safer.
If your computer can't, businesses can pay for extra updates, but now regular people can get them for free by using a Microsoft account or using Microsoft points.
Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025, ceasing security updates.
Users can upgrade to Windows 11 for free if their device is eligible.
Commercial customers can opt for the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program by paying a fee.
Microsoft will offer the ESU program for free to those who sign in with a Microsoft account or redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points.
