YSRCP seeks fast-track trial in Rajahmundry medical student hit-and-run

A young doctor was very badly hurt in an accident in the city of Rajahmundry.

The accident happened outside a shopping mall.

The doctor, Dr M Priyanka, was 24 years old and studying to become a skin doctor.

She was in her first year of advanced medical studies.

Because of her injuries, doctors say her brain has stopped working, which is called being brain-dead.

The party group says the accident happened after a small argument became violent and involved a driver who may have been drinking.

A group of doctors who support the YSRCP party felt very sad and angry about what happened.

They asked the government to start a special fast court so the trial happens quickly.

They also want the person responsible to receive the strongest punishment allowed.

They asked the government to make cities safer so this does not happen to anyone else.
