Neha Bora Questions Bengal Violence After Bankura, Jadavpur Clashes

Neha Bora spoke in Kolkata about recent violence in Bengal.

She discussed fighting at Jadavpur University and the death of a man named Mafik in Bankura.

At Jadavpur, ABVP supporters and Left-affiliated student groups clashed after a disagreement about a students’ union meeting.

Left groups said some ABVP supporters entered the campus and damaged posters, flags and banners.

They also said students were threatened and some belongings were set on fire.

Bora said the violence did not look like what should happen at an ideal university.

She also asked who should be held responsible for Mafik’s alleged killing.

The article says Mafik’s son, Sheikh Abdul Hafeez, had documented problems at a government school in his village.
