Kamathipura Redevelopment Receives Bids, Moves Forward
Kamathipura, a very old and crowded part of Mumbai, is going to be rebuilt!
This means the old buildings will be replaced with new ones.
Two companies have offered to do the work, and now the government will choose one.
They're also counting how many people live there.
The new buildings will have apartments for the people who already live there, and the buildings could get very tall.
This is a big project to make the area better and give more people a place to live.
MHADA received two bids for the redevelopment of Kamathipura.
The project will rehabilitate residents and compensate landowners.
Reconstructed buildings will have up to 57 floors.
A biometric survey of residents has begun.
The plan aims to transform Kamathipura into a modern urban village.
