Nagaland Congress: Don't turn FCRA into weapon against Christian institutions

Nagaland Congress: Don't turn FCRA into weapon against Christian institutions

In India, a political party called the Congress is worried about a new set of rules about money that comes from other countries.

Some groups in Nagaland and across India get foreign money to help people.

Christian groups use this money to run schools, hospitals, and programs that help poor and sick people.

The government has changed the rules for receiving foreign money.

Now, groups have to choose their purpose from a fixed list.

The list does not include sharing or spreading your religion, which is called proselytisation.

The Congress party says the new rules could be used to be unfair to Christian groups.

They are asking the government not to treat Christian institutions as suspects just because of their faith.

Congress says all groups should be judged by the same rules.

They want the rules to be about honesty and fairness, not about picking on certain groups.
