Coast Guard and IRMRI Sign MoU for Indigenous Marine Products
The Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Rubber Materials Research Institute (IRMRI) have teamed up.
They signed an agreement to work together on making special rubber and composite products for ships and equipment.
The goal is to make these items in India instead of buying them from other countries.
IRMRI will help by analyzing and testing materials, and also help find local companies, even small start-ups, to make these products.
This is a step toward making India more self-reliant in this special area.
Indian Coast Guard and IRMRI signed an MoU to promote indigenization.
The MoU aims to develop specialized marine rubber and composite products.
IRMRI will explore developing rubber material spares to replace imports.
IRMRI will test rubber components made by Indian industries for ICG.
The collaboration supports building indigenous solutions.
