Opposition Alleges Rs 4 Lakh Crore Corruption by DMK
The leader of the opposition in Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami, has accused the DMK government of being involved in a huge corruption scandal worth Rs 4 lakh crore.
He says this corruption has been happening in 22 different government departments since the DMK came to power in 2021.
Palaniswami has asked the Governor to start a detailed investigation by a retired Supreme Court judge and take action against those involved.
He also mentioned that because of this corruption, the state's administration has gotten worse, and investors are leaving Tamil Nadu.
The DMK government has responded by saying that these accusations are ridiculous, especially since Palaniswami himself is facing graft charges.
AIADMK's Edappadi K Palaniswami accuses DMK government of Rs 4 lakh crore corruption since 2021.
Allegations involve 22 government departments, with municipal administration and drinking water supply topping the list at Rs 64,000 crore.
Palaniswami demands a detailed enquiry by a retired Supreme Court judge and action against those involved.
DMK government dismisses the allegations as ridiculous, citing Palaniswami's own graft charges.
Alleged corruption has led to deterioration of law and order and loss of investors in Tamil Nadu.
