EU Approves Six-Month HIV Prevention Drug, Lenacapavir

Scientists have developed a new shot to help stop HIV, a virus that causes AIDS.

This shot, called lenacapavir, works for six months, making it the longest-lasting option.

The EU approved it after studies showed it's very good at preventing the virus.

This could help stop the spread of HIV.

However, there are worries that it might not be available to everyone who needs it, especially in some areas where the virus is spreading.

The drug company plans to offer cheaper versions in many poor countries, but not in Latin America, causing concern.
