NHAI Issues Notices to Contractors Over Unresolved Black Spots
Imagine roads have dangerous spots where accidents happen a lot.
These are called 'black spots'.
A boss at the National Highway Authority of India, named Sudershan Kumar Popli, noticed that the information about these dangerous spots wasn't up-to-date.
He also saw that the companies responsible for fixing them hadn't done it yet.
So, he told his team to send warning letters to these companies.
These letters will ask the companies why they didn't fix the dangerous spots by the end of November.
This happened during a meeting about how to make our roads safer.
NHAI officials ordered to issue show-cause notices to contractors for unresolved black spots.
Contractors failed to rectify or update the status of black spots on Kalka-Shimla National Highway by November 30.
The directive was issued by Adviser (Road Safety), NHAI, Sudershan Kumar Popli.
Discrepancies were found in critical data related to black spots on the NHAI's online portal.
The workshop focused on improving road safety and monitoring accident-prone sites.
