94-Year-Old Man Freed After 25-Year Legal Battle
A very old man, 94 years old, was in a legal fight for 25 years.
He was originally found guilty of murder.
But recently, the court said he didn't do murder but something less serious called culpable homicide.
The court decided this because of his age and the time he had already spent in jail.
So, he was set free and doesn't have to serve any more time in prison.
A 94-year-old man was granted relief by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
His murder conviction was diluted to culpable homicide under Section 304 Part I of IPC.
The court considered his old age and time already served in jail.
The man challenged the conviction order passed by the trial court.
The court ruled that the case did not fall under the definition of murder as per Section 300 IPC.
