Seven-Member Odisha Family Killed in Madhya Pradesh Cremated
Seven people from one family in Odisha died during a pilgrimage in Madhya Pradesh.
Their vehicle was carried away by a stream that had become very full after heavy rain.
The taxi driver also died.
The family’s remains were brought back to Bhubaneswar late Sunday.
Relatives and neighbours gathered to mourn them.
The remains were then taken to Puri.
Their last rites were performed at Swargadwar on Monday.
The Odisha government helped bring the remains home.
Mohan Charan Majhi and Narendra Modi announced financial assistance for the families.

The accident occurred Saturday near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Agar-Malwa district, after heavy rainfall.
The taxi driver also died in the incident while the family was on a pilgrimage.
The seven family members’ remains reached Bhubaneswar late Sunday and were taken to Puri Swargadwar for cremation on Monday.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced Rs 5 lakh each, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 2 lakh each for the victims’ families.
