Temple Wearable Nears Launch With PPG Sensor Technology

Temple Wearable Nears Launch With PPG Sensor Technology

Temple is a small wearable that sits near the side of the head.

Its sensor uses light to detect changes in blood volume, much like sensors in some smartwatches.

The company is developing a system called BrainFlow to track blood-flow changes linked to the brain.

A study with 60 people compared its readings with another measurement method and reported correlations from 0.84 to 0.91.

That study has not yet completed peer review.

More research is needed to know exactly what the readings mean.

Deepinder Goyal says pilots and air-force personnel could be possible users in the future.

Pre-orders are expected soon, but the price in India has not been confirmed.
