Assam CM: USTM Built on Forest Land, Calls for Demolition
The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has said that a university in Meghalaya, called USTM, is built on forest land.
He has brought this to the attention of the Supreme Court.
The CM hopes the university will be torn down, as he believes it puts too much emphasis on making money from education.
He has previously criticized the university's chancellor, who was once arrested but is now out on bail.
The CM views the institution as an institution that has commercialised education.
