Nilgiris to Establish First Animal Birth Control Center in Coonoor
The Nilgiris district is getting its first animal hospital to help control the number of stray animals.
It will be in Coonoor and will have places to do surgeries and care for the animals afterward.
The local government and an animal protection group worked together to make this happen.
They will also do a survey to understand how many dogs are in the area.
The goal is to help stray animals and make the area safer for everyone.
The Nilgiris will establish its first animal birth control (ABC) center in Coonoor.
The Directorate of Animal Husbandry approved the ABC center.
The center will have operation theaters, post-operative care, and kennels.
The Nilgiris chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) requested the center.
