Tata-Lockheed Martin Break Ground on C-130J MRO Facility in India
Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin have started building a new facility in Bengaluru, India.
This facility will help fix and maintain C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, which are used by the Indian Air Force.
The building will be ready by the end of 2026, and the first aircraft will be serviced in early 2027.
This project will help India become more self-reliant in defense manufacturing and create new job opportunities.
The facility will also support other C-130 aircraft around the world.
Lockheed Martin has been working with India for a long time and has delivered many parts for these aircraft.
The new facility is part of their ongoing partnership to improve India's defense capabilities.
Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin broke ground on a new MRO facility in Bengaluru, India, for the C-130J Super Hercules fleet.
The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 and will receive its first C-130J for MRO in early 2027.
The MRO center will offer depot-level maintenance, component repair, structural checks, avionics upgrades, and training for Indian engineers.
The facility will support the Indian Air Force's 12 C-130J aircraft and eventually serve regional and global operators.
This initiative strengthens India's aerospace ecosystem, aligns with the 'Make in India' vision, and creates opportunities for Indian suppliers.
