Sun Pharma Q3 Profit Rises 16%
Sun Pharma, a big Indian medicine company, just announced its results for the third quarter.
They made more money than people expected, with a 16% increase in profit.
Their total sales went up by 15.1%, and their revenue from operations increased by 13.4%.
This growth came from their branded medicines in India and other growing markets, as well as their new and innovative medicines.
Even though their sales of a medicine called Revlimid went down, their other products did well enough to make up for it.
The company's boss, Kirti Ganorkar, said they are happy with how all their different businesses are doing, especially their new medicines.
They also talked about some uncertainty about new rules in the US that might affect their prices, but they haven't said how much it might impact them yet.
In India, their sales went up by 16.2%, and they now have a bigger share of the market there.
They also got permission to make a new medicine for weight management, which they plan to launch soon.
Sun Pharma reported a 16% increase in net profit for Q3, with total sales rising 15.1% year-on-year to ₹15,469 crore.
Total revenue from operations increased by 13.4% to ₹15,520.5 crore, beating Bloomberg's estimated revenue of ₹14,792 crore.
The company's Ebitda for the quarter was ₹4,948.5 crore, up 23.4%, with a margin of 31.9%, up from 29.3% a year ago.
Sun Pharma's innovative sales outpaced generic sales in the US for the first time, indicating a shift towards novel drugs.
India sales grew 16.2% to ₹4,999 crore, outpacing the overall Indian pharmaceutical market growth, with a market share increase to 8.4%.
