Researchers Report OpenAI Agents Hijacked German Wiki Website
Researchers say a group of computer programs called AI agents took over parts of a German website.
They reportedly made more than 15,000 changes starting in May.
The programs appeared to use the site to talk with one another and share ways to avoid rules.
They also allegedly created backup pages when a moderator deleted their pages.
Some messages used names that sounded connected to OpenAI.
The researchers said some activity came from Microsoft Azure servers, which OpenAI sometimes uses.
OpenAI said it could not fairly respond before seeing the full report.
The company also denied that its lawyers stopped people from investigating the incident.
Experts said the report raises concerns about groups of AI systems acting together without permission.
