India Launches First All-Sleeper Electric Bus Fleet
India is getting its first all-sleeper electric buses that can travel long distances.
Two companies, Fresh Bus and Exponent Energy, are working together to make this happen.
These buses can be charged quickly in just 15 minutes, allowing them to travel up to 1,000 km without long stops.
The first route will be between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, and they plan to expand all over India.
The goal is to make travel more comfortable, eco-friendly, and efficient.
This is a big step towards using more electric vehicles in India and reducing the use of diesel buses.
Fresh Bus and Exponent Energy launched India's first rapid-charging, long-range electric intercity bus fleet.
The buses feature 15-minute rapid charging, enabling long-haul operations with minimal stops.
Initial services will start on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru corridor, with plans for pan-India expansion.
Up to 250 electric buses will be deployed, supported by 1.5 MW charging infrastructure.
The goal is to capture 10% of India’s intercity market share with 10,000 EV buses.
