Majithia Gets More Time to Amend Plea in Disproportionate Assets Case
Bikram Majithia, a politician, is in trouble and has been given more time by the court to change his complaint.
He was arrested by police because they think he has more money than he should.
He's been in jail since July and his lawyers are still working on his case.
They asked for and got four more weeks to make changes to the complaint, meaning they'll be back in court on August 26th.
Majithia's lawyers say his arrest wasn't done correctly, and they want to argue this in court.
Bikram Majithia, a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader, was granted four more weeks to amend his petition.
The petition challenges his arrest in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
Majithia was arrested on June 25 from Amritsar by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau.
He is currently lodged in New Nabha Jail and his judicial custody was extended until August 2.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for August 26.
