Karnataka CM seeks PM Modi's help for Bengal gram procurement

The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for help.

He wants the central government to buy Bengal gram (a type of pulse) from farmers at a guaranteed price called MSP.

Right now, farmers are selling their crops for much less than MSP, which is causing them financial trouble.

The Chief Minister says this is a big problem because many farmers in Karnataka grow Bengal gram.

He has promised that the state government will help with the buying process, like arranging storage and transport.

He hopes the Prime Minister will approve this plan quickly to help the farmers.
