Gujarat Forms Committee to Protect Energy Infrastructure from Cyber Attacks
The Gujarat state government has created two groups to help protect its energy systems from hackers.
These groups will look at how to make the energy systems safer, teach people about cyber security, and work with experts to improve the systems.
They will also plan exercises to practice dealing with cyber attacks.
This is important because modern energy systems like smart meters and smart grids can be more easily targeted by hackers.
Gujarat government formed a 11-member Core Committee and a 19-member Task Force to protect energy infrastructure from cyber attacks.
The groups will review cyber security measures, policies, and preparedness for managing cyber security incidents.
They will present a roadmap for improvements and building a robust cyber security system.
Partnerships will be established with academic institutions and experts for cyber drills, training, and awareness programs.
Coordination with national and state agencies will be maintained for effective cyber security management.
