NDA Walkout Precedes Unopposed Election of YSRCP Deputy Chairman

Tumati Madhava Rao was chosen to be the Deputy Chairman of Andhra Pradesh’s Legislative Council.

He was elected without anyone competing against him.

Members of the ruling TDP-led NDA alliance left the chamber before the vote.

They stayed away while Madhava Rao took charge.

YSRCP members celebrated and congratulated him.

They said the ruling alliance should have been present.

They also asked the Council to discuss alleged problems with Mega DSC-2025 and the sports quota.

The NDA chief whip said the members were following their party’s decision to stay out.
