Girls Dominate MBBS Admissions in AP
In Andhra Pradesh, more girls are getting into medical college than boys.
This year, girls got 60.72% of the seats, which is the highest in three years.
The health minister said that families are now more supportive of girls studying medicine, and girls are working harder to get good ranks in the entrance exams.
This means more girls are becoming doctors than boys.
Girls secured 60.72% of MBBS seats in Andhra Pradesh for 2025-26, up from 57.96% in 2024-25.
Total MBBS seats available this year: 6,430.
Girls outperformed boys in both convener and management quotas.
The trend shows a steady increase in girls' admissions over three consecutive years.
Officials attribute the rise to improved academic competitiveness and better support systems for girls.
