Punjab Housing Department Lends Rs 12,000 Crore to Government
The Punjab Urban Development and Housing Department has given Rs 12,000 crore to the state government.
The minister in charge, Hardeep Singh Mundian, said this is not a loan but a temporary lending of money.
The department is one of the richest in the state and has helped the government before, like when it gave Rs 3,500 crore to pay staff salaries last September.
