India Approves Major Defence Procurements
India has approved a big plan to buy new military equipment worth ₹79,000 crore.
This includes things like drones, special rockets, and systems to detect other drones.
The Army will get tools to fight better on the ground, the Navy will get help for ships and better communication, and the Air Force will get new missiles and training tools.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defence signed contracts worth ₹4,666 crore for over 4.25 lakh CQB carbines and 48 heavy weight torpedoes.
The carbines will replace old weapons with new, locally made ones, and the torpedoes will make the Navy's submarines stronger.
This is all to make India's military stronger and ready for modern threats.
The approvals and contracts are important steps, but it doesn't mean the equipment will be bought right away.
It just means the military can now start the process of buying these things.
India's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved ₹79,000 crore in military procurements for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The Army will receive Loiter Munition Systems, Low Level Light Weight Radars, Long Range Guided Rocket Ammunition, Integrated Drone Detection & Interdiction System (IDDIS) Mk-II, and 4.25 lakh CQB Carbines.
The Navy will get Bollard Pull (BP) Tugs, High Frequency Software Defined Radios (HF SDR) Manpack, High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), and 48 Heavy Weight Torpedoes.
The Air Force will acquire Automatic Take-off and Landing Recording Systems, Astra Mk-II air-to-air missiles, Full Mission Simulators for LCA Tejas, and SPICE-1000 Long Range Guidance Kits.
