BMC Plans Acrylic Makeover for Dadar Kabutar Khana
The Dadar Kabutar Khana is a famous pigeon‑feeding spot in Mumbai.
In August 2023, the city covered it with a tarpaulin because the state banned feeding pigeons.
Now the city wants to replace that tarpaulin with clear acrylic sheets and plant flowers underneath.
This will make the place look nicer, but the ban on feeding pigeons stays.
Some people want the whole structure moved to clear traffic, but the city says it can’t be moved because it is a heritage building.
BMC plans to replace tarpaulin covering of Dadar Kabutar Khana with acrylic sheets.
Greenery will be added underneath the structure to improve aesthetics.
The ban on pigeon feeding remains unchanged and will continue to be enforced.
Relocation of the structure is not feasible due to its heritage status.
Local residents and officials support the facelift while keeping the feeding ban.
